Picnic 2012 to Coxs Bazar & Saint Martin Island

  As an integral part of our family bondage & fellowship in Rotary, a 2 night/3 day club picnic was organized to Cox Bazar & Saint Martin Island in the month of February. It was highly enjoyable & refreshing as many members with their families took part in this fellowship program.

Anjuman Ara Islam, PP Haradhan Dey, Rtn Anil Chowdhury, Club Secretary rtn Arindam Biswas, rtn Hamidul Hoque, Rtn Rafique Chowdhury and Rtn Alamgir Chowdhury. Club donated few equipments like baby weighing machine, head & sucker machine, dispensable hand wash, etc. Three nurses from the neonatal ward was also recognized for their outstanding service in care of new born babies.

  

 

 

Winter Clothe Distribution to poor

In observance of ‘Victory Day’

Club organized on the 16th December morning a procession towards Central Shaheed Minar-Chittagong with the presence of Rotarians & Rotaractors and remembered with great respect the contribution of freedom fighters and war martyrs by presenting flower wreath.

Governor’s Official Club Visit

Official Visit by the Governor was held on 29th October amidst good attendance and enthusiasm. DG A H M Zaker discussed issues related with Rotary Club Leadership Plans and Strategies, praised club projects, fellowship and actions, also motivated members to take further initiatives in district events such as student adoption for 3-5 years, conducting cataract surgeries with eye camp, TRF, Tree plantation etc. Club President handed over a Report Book on all information reuqired to be submitted during Governor’s official visit.

Charter Night Celebrated…………

Club celebrated in a very befitting & colorful manner its 25th Charter Night on 20th October at the Hall Room of Uni Group. PDG Habibullah Khan (DG 1988-89, Dist. 3280) graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Club, as continuity to its tradition of honoring senior Rotarians from Chittagong, honored with appreciation PDG L K Siddiqi (DG 1992-93, Dist. 3280) for his contribution to Rotary since 1974. Club inducted a new member during the event and also launched its website officially as www.rotary-ctgdowntown.com. The program ended with a cultural program and fellowship dinner.

Obeserving Ramadan with Iftar at Orphanage

Club members shared their time with the orphans of Baitul Karim Etimkhana located at the Halishahar B Block in the city and had Iftar with them. President exchanged views with the management and in a brief speech highlighted club’s ongoing projects in relation with education & health of poor community.

25th Installation Ceremony

The 25th Installation Ceremony of the Club was held on 17th September, Saturday at the Karnaphuli Hall of Hotel agrabad, Chittagong. Rupali Chowdhury, Managing Director, Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The immediate past president Rtn M Anwaruddin officially handed over the club president’s collar to the new president Rtn Hasib M Shakoor. Past District Governor M A Ahad, Past District Governor M Aminuzzaman Bhuiyan, Asst. Governor Nasir Uddin A Chowdhury, Deputy Governor Raffat Parvez Khan, Governor’s Special Aide Raffi Ahmed, Deputy Governor Morshedul Alam were present among many distinguished rotarians from the city. The Colorful Ceremony was ended with a fellowship dinner.

Tree Plantation Programs

Rotary Club of Chittagong Downtown organized number of Tree Plantation Programs this year in the areas like Sitakunda, Raozan and Hillview Residential area in Chittagong. Club planted more than 1000 saplings during these tree plantation initiatives.
